Democratic Officeholders- Stand Up to the Nonsense
I am beyond disgusted with the idiotic “birthers”, the death panel fear mongers, the liars, fabricators, and distorters of truth. Now the President is not a Christian, he’s a Muslim. This untruth seems to matter to the gullible, vacuous, gut level reactionaries, religious followers of McConnell, Boehner, Limbaugh, Beck, Palin, et al.
I demand that my elected officials stand before America and say these words: “They are LIARS. They are thieves who steal your government’s valuable time. They are greedy and nothing more than pugnacious, power mad, mean spirited punks who will do and say anything to get themselves back in the majority, the best interest of the people be damned!” This is the truth and every Democrat knows it. We know it and we know that it must be said now!
Let’s all grow a backbone. Let’s raise holy hell rather than coddle the unconscionable and venal venom spewers who are gleefully attempting to destroy all the good that has been done by this administration. The present atmosphere is untenable and escalating unchecked. We must fight fire with a flame thrower. If there is no one in the Democratic Party who has the guts to go toe to toe with those lunatics, then hire someone to do it for us.
The bully pulpit belongs to the President. The Vice President, the Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority Leader, the White House Chief of Staff and the certainly the Press Secretary also should be able to summon TV cameras and microphones on a moment’s notice. Do it now and do it daily. The Republican propaganda machine has effectively overridden the accomplishments of the Obama Administration far too many times. Attempts to reach across the aisle have failed. Comity is not in the Republican’s make up or vocabulary. We must rise above the din created by those who would happily return the country to the Bush years.
