Sharon, with the backing of the Religious Right in this country, does not feel the need to be a fair player in the peace plan. The Religious Right has its own selfish agenda, which certainly does not have real Jewish interests at heart. These Bible literalist believe the end of the world is coming soon and that all Jews will either be destroyed or converted. Their "Bible" unfortunately seems to be the series of fictional books, "Left Behind." Bush is dependent upon the far right and the Jewish vote for reelection and is therefore not a true broker of peace. Bush's uneven hand is widely seen in the Arab world who rightfully mistrust him. With all of these self serving agendas, there will be no peace under this administration. |

While you make some interesting points, I cannot think of any issue more likely to divide the Democratic coalition. It is a very unusual topic for your first post at DTR. We are not looking for issues to divide us when our Democratic agenda on civil liberties, economic justice and fairness, clean elections, fair taxes and fair trade are under assault by the Bush Republican/Big Business machine.
2004 is coming.
