Over 66% of the American electorate, Independants and Democrats, are converging in their views and in opposition to the Republican agenda. We could be witnessing the leading edge of a tsunami that will crush the Republican Party.

Hit on the link below to read further positive polling data that suggests "moderates," that make up over 50% of the electorate, are trending heavily against the Bush administration.
Gore carried "moderates," by 7% in 2000 and won the general election by 539,897 votes. The current trend is 17% of the "moderate vote" against Bush.
I smell blood! I feel confidant that the Democratic candidate (barring a scandal or meltdown) will win over 308 electoral votes, and could conceivably win 320+ electoral votes.

Another poll shows Bush losing to an "un-named" Democratic candidate by the margin of 48% to 42%. In the same poll 75% of American's feel going after Al Queda and Osama Bin Laden should be our focus on terror as opposed to 21% that feel establishing control over Iraq as the best way to fight terror. Poll: Bush Slipping Among Independents
The Associated press

Saturday 17 January 2004

WASHINGTON - President Bush's support among political independents, a critical voting group in the coming year, has been slipping in recent weeks, a poll released Saturday found.

The CBS-New York Times poll found that fewer than half, 45 percent, of independents approve of the job Bush is doing as president. In December, Bush's approval among independents had soared to 64 percent in the same poll.

While 62 percent of independents support Bush's handling of terrorism, his backing on other issues is lagging in that group. Only 44 percent of independents support his handling of Iraq in the CBS-NYT poll and 37 percent support his handling of the economy.

In the poll, 43 percent of all those polled said the war in Iraq was worth the costs and 51 percent said it was not.

Republicans strongly support Bush on all fronts, as they have for months, and Democrats are increasingly opposed to the president as the 2004 campaign heats up. So independents will be a crucial voting bloc.

The poll found that people are evenly divided on whether they would support Bush or the Democratic candidate. But when Bush is matched against specific Democratic candidates in other polls, he has a double-digit lead against any of them.

Bush's job approval in this poll was 50 percent among all voters, though it has ranged from the low 50s to the high 50s in other recent polls.

The CBS-Times poll found people evenly divided on whether they have a favorable or unfavorable view of the president personally.

Two-thirds said he has strong qualities of leadership, but they were far less confident about his priorities and his economic decisions.

The poll of 1,022 was taken Monday through Thursday and has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points, larger for subgroups.

Press Release Source: Newsweek

Newsweek Poll: Campaign 2004
Saturday January 24, 11:12 am ET
Kerry Leads Dems With 30 Percent; Edwards Follows at 13 Percent; Dean Slips, Even With Clark at 12 Percent
52 Percent of Voters Don't Want to See Bush Re-Elected (44% Do), 37 Percent Strongly Want to See Him Re-Elected, 47 Percent Strongly Do Not
But a Large Majority (78%) Says That it is Very Likely (40%) or Somewhat Likely (38%) That he Will Get a Second Term

http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/040124/nysa010a_1.html

I believe the 78% that perceive Bush's re-election as somewhat/very likely is a reflection of the national media and right-wing talking points that continually note Bush's approval ratings but consistantly ignore the more important underlying "re-elect" number that have been stalled at 45% or less for nearly a year now. The American public is strongly separated from the extremist views of the Bush administration and the Republican Party. If these trends continue, a blowout by the Democratic Party is not unreasonable to expect.

I personally prefer Dean, but there is so much at stake. Four years of Republican reign has set this country back so bad it's not even funny. We can't afford another Bush term. If it comes down to Kerry, I will vote for him.

For me the major concerns are civil rights, the supreme court justice appointments, and the rate at which jobs are leaving this country. I am having to move away from my family in order to have a job because mine left. I will say this, I don't respect the other candidates for how they've attacked Dr. Dean. They are suppose to deliver to the public their take on the issues and let their past record tell it's own story. They are not suppose to help Republicans beat up their competition. You don't see Republicans doing to their candidates publically what the other Democratic candidates have done to Dr. Dean. That is what is so disheartening about this party. It has turned into a power struggle among candidates rather than a fight to get America back. I really don't think any of them realizes just how important this election is to America's future. If they did, they would be running clean campaigns and not handing Republicans smear tactics for their 2004 campaign. Our party is losing alot of respect in the public's eyes because of it.

I think you're absolutely correct. It is totally discusting that democrats have been acting like a bunch of high school punks. I have publically called for Terry McCulliff to step down during a rally at the State Capitol in Sacramento last year because he bungled races that we could have won but lost(namely the Governor's races in the south). Actually, I did rant on the DLC once to a county supervisor once and he agreed with me that they have been slowly bringing down the party. There is a story now on Oped news that says that Karl Rove is more afraid of Dean than Kerry. Apparently all that talk about Rove wanting Dean to win nom is not so. Do you suppose its because the people who support Dean are pissed too? And perhaps there is truth to the saying "strength in numbers?" Do you also suppose they are affraid of Dean because he can tell it like it is? Just asking.

" I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family" (G.W. 1/27/2000).

A huge number of the undecided voters in Iowa broke in the last few days for Kerry and Edwards. These voters cited "electability," as the main reason for their votes. And this is what has the White House wetting their pants. They thought we were going to forget 2000. They thought they could buy their way into a second term. We haven't, and they won't. Democrats have their game face on. Conservative columnist George Will and "The Prince of Darkness," and "traitor enabler," Robert Novak, both noted this in the last week. We are pissed. We are motivated. And junior is going to be following in John Quincy Adams footsteps. YEE-HA!!!

More great news. Now Bush's credibility is plunging, especially among independants. Only 38% of this critical demographic trusts Bush.
