1. CIA asks the Justice Dept. to investigate alleged Whitehouse leak |
|
|
The Central Intelligence Agency has asked the Justice Dept. to investigate the leak, attributed to the Whitehouse, that compromised the cover and life of an undercover agent. It is alleged that the leak to conservative columnist, Robert Novak, was intended to intimidate the former ambassador, whose wife is the agent in question, and who exposed the falsehood of the Bush claim that Iraq was trying to purchase uranium from Niger.
I'll lay odds, the Ashcroft Justice Dept., whitewashes this violation of federal law.

I agree asscrotch will whitewash this.
It is a treasonous act, that is not getting any real media attention as of yet. |

I caught a little bit about it on the radio, but I didn't hear entire story while tuning around. I should say that if a story is released on a weekend, it is possible for it to(as they say) "have legs"--meaning weekends tend to be boring in terms of a news cycle. If it is slow a network radio/TV could very well pick it up and run with it. So if everyone is out of town for w/e, in theory the story could still generate "buzz". By the time an audience has sunday evening dinner, the story could be hot. The true test is if its still hot during monday morning drive.

This latest Bush scandal has legs. It is all over the news and the net. It has so many legs it looks like a centapede.
As I understand the federal law and the details of this act of treason, at least two, yet to be named White House officials, should be charged, tried and if convicted, face ten years in prison.
If this touches any other people in the Bush administration, up to and including the president, they as well should face justice, including impeachment.

According to Tim Curry in his story on MSNBC, he claims democrats stand to gain from this big time. All of the demo candidates (as you would expect) are calling for an independent counsel to investigate this. Too bad the law pertaining to these types of scandels expired in 1999. But expect the usual stalling and stupid excuses which typically are SOP with this White House.
